This month's feature article is inspired by April being National Stress Awareness Month.  Learn some quick, easy techniques for using your intuition to reduce stress and create more balance.

 

A few more ways to reduce stress...If you haven't already, add your mobile number to the National Do Not Call Registry to eliminate receiving telemarketing calls on your mobile number.  Yes, legislation enacted now allows telemarketers to call your mobile number if you haven't registered it for Do Not Call.  You can also significantly reduce the amount of 'junk mail' you receive (and save trees) by using the Direct Marketing Association (DMA) Choice web site to manage your mail preferences.

 

Since April is also National Humor Month, here's a joke for you:  Two intuitives run into each other walking down the street.  One says to the other "You're fine, how am I?"  (Well it's funny to me!)

 

As a follow up to last month's feature article Are You Paying Impeccable Attention? Notice What You Notice, I've been in heightened observation mode.  Here are a few examples of things to watch for that can help your business.  I noticed during intuitive consultations that clients are on an "Intuitive Ride Along."  Joining me in the expansive intuitive state allows them to further acknowledge and develop their own intuition.  As you observe how you provide your products or services, notice additional benefits and add them to your benefits list.  Also, a recent Business Intuition Consultation client called me an "Intuitive Google" - using my intuition as the search engine to access helpful information about their business.  I love that!  So, notice what your clients are saying about you and consider adding that to your business introduction.

Messages from Our Body

 

Statistics from the medical industry attribute stress as the cause of up to 90 percent of illness and disease.  The good news is that we have a very effective barometer of the amount of stress we are experiencing.  It's our physical body.  That ache or pain is our body's way of letting us know we are under stress or out of balance.

 

Unfortunately, due of our busy lifestyles, we often ignore the whisperings of our body - our dis-ease presenting as minor aches or pains - because we are just too busy to acknowledge or address it.  However, the result is that our body just talks louder, amplifying our aches and pains or creating discomfort in other areas of our body.  If we continue to ignore our body's messages, it has the potential to eventually turn into a medical 2 by 4 - our discomfort has the potential to turn into serious illness or disease.

 

Consult Your Inner Physician

 

I refer to using your intuition to tune in to your body for helpful information as Consulting your Inner Physician.  Learn to pay particular attention to your body and the messages it is sending you.  If you begin to feel any discomfort in your body, try the simple technique below:

 

Take a few minutes, close your eyes, take a deep breath, focus on an area of your body where you feel discomfort and ask the following questions (and wait for the answer):

  1. As you focus on that part of your body, what do you notice?
  2. Do you sense a color, temperature or other sensations?
  3. What emotions do you notice as you focus on that part of your body?
  4. What thoughts do you notice as you focus on that part of your body?
  5. Ask that part of your body what it is trying to tell you.
  6. Ask that part of your body what it wants to be healthy and balanced.
  7. Send love and gratitude to your body and thank it for being the vehicle through which you express your unique purpose and passions in the world.

When it feels complete, thank your body for its messages and acknowledge your intuition for helping you get valuable information to create wellness.  The more you validate your intuition, the quicker and easier it will expand.

 

By learning to listen to our bodies early on when it is just whispering to us, and acting on the information we receive to reduce stress and create balance, we can often avoid the need for our bodies to talk louder to get our attention.

 

Remember that is it important to have a competent health team that includes a licensed physician.  The concepts above are to augment your health team, not replace it.

 

Your Inner Physician is ready and waiting to help you identify and reduce stress, and create wellness.

Second Saturday Art Walk
In May we will be displaying works of art by foster children and volunteers in the CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) program. 100% of the proceeds from any sales will go to CASA to help fund their advocacy work with foster children.  It costs $1500 for each child in the program to have a CASA advocate for one year.  Learn more about their wonderful work on the CASA web site.
