This month's feature article is about using intuition to access the truth about your business and your life.

 

Summer is sizzling with great ideas and inspiration.  Here are a few nuggets I picked up at the recent 11th annual eWomenNetwork Conference:

 

·          Sandra Yancey, founder & CEO of eWomenNetwork:  "The two most important days of your life are the day you were born and the day you know why."

·          Lisa Sasevich says to follow the 90/10 rule when describing your products or services.  90% of what you say should focus on the transformation that people receive and only 10% on how you deliver that transformation.

·          Linda Clemons says to choreograph the experience you want your customers to feel - taking into account all of the 5 physical senses as well as the emotions.  Make it memorable!

 

In my latest technology adventure, I'm so excited to have implemented a specialized web cam.  Using it with Skype, it allows my remote clients to see their Business Intuition Consultation visuals unfold real-time.   Woohoo...clients are lovin' it.

Intuition As Your Guide

Accessing the Trutth
 

Webster's definition of intuition is:  Direct perception of truth, fact, etc., independent of any reasoning process.  

 

What if you could tune in and know everything there is to know about your business (or your health or your relationships)?  What if you could know the truth about:

·          What products and services are most in alignment with your purpose and passion

·          The wants and needs of your clients (and future clients) and how to best fulfill them

·          How to spend your time and resources to accelerate your business

·          Strategies, tactics, and practical actions to be clear, focused and on track

·          Possibilities and potentials for your business (and your life)

 

By consciously engaging your intuition, you can tune in and know the truth about your business.  Your intuition is your most powerful guide or coach.  Webster's definition of a coach is:  To instruct, direct, or prompt.  Synonyms for coach:  Guide, counsel, lead, mentor, pilot, shepherd, show, tutor.  Those are roles our intuition can fulfill for us.

 

Just as we usually engage a coach over a period of time, it's important to remember to use your intuition regularly as your business unfolds.  Consider a monthly check in with your Inner CEO - your intuition - to confirm that you are on track, get clarity and focus, or minimize challenges.

 

Tips for Using Intuition as Your Guide

 

FOCUS - When expanding your ability to consciously engage your intuition in business it helps to be somewhere quiet and uninterrupted so you can focus.  Relax and take a few deep breaths, releasing all distractions and centering your attention on this activity. 

 

ASK -  Be clear about what you are asking and state it in the positive.  For example:  What am I to know that is in the highest good for my business?  You can also use some of the bullet items above to frame your questions.

 

LISTEN - Wait for the answer!  We have 6 unique intuitive senses we can learn to access.  For a description of our 6 intuitive senses click here.


ACT - Take action on the intuitive answers you receive. When you acknowledge, validate and act on your intuition - it expands.

 

Consider keeping an intuition journal so you can keep track of when you use your intuition for your business and personal benefit. By tapping into your intuition, in addition to receiving answers, you'll gain clarity, confidence and courage.

 

Remembering to Use Intuition in Business

 

The story featured on the cover of the August issue of O (Oprah) Magazine is Let Your Intuition Be Your Guide, Uncovering Answers to Your Deepest Questions. How about that! One of the most well known magazines 'coming out' about intuition. Woohoo! It's about time! The only disappointment was that it focused entirely on using intuition in our personal lives but didn't mention using intuition in business at all. Considering that I saw an interview of Oprah where she indicated that two of the things that have made her most successful in business are intuition and timing...I think they missed a big piece of the puzzle (Yes, I wrote a letter to the editor about the value of using intuition in business).

 

Knowing the Truth - A Personal Conundrum

 

I was recently called for jury duty. As I waited to be called and questioned, conflicting thoughts came to mind. Will they dismiss me when they find out I am a full time professional intuitive - that I can tune in and know the truth? Hmmm. And what if I were to be actually selected for the jury. My personal and professional boundaries are that I don't read people intuitively without their permission. Yet, I also believe the justice system should be based on the truth. In such an intense setting as a jury trial, would I be able to keep my intuition turned off completely and only cast my vote based on the "facts" as presented? Or would the importance of justice being based on the truth allow me to use my intuition in this special circumstance?

 

And then...If the justice/court system is supposed to be based on the truth (and not just on who has the better lawyer), what would a future look like if intuitives were used as an additional check and balance system in the courts? But then that concept can also be taken too far, such as in the 2002 Stephen Spielberg movie Minority Report staring Tom Cruise. It takes place in 2054 where a specialized police department "PreCrime" uses 3 intuitives called "pre-cogs" (pre-cognitives - those who can see the future) to apprehend criminals based on foreknowledge of crimes.  Quite the mind bending movie.

 

Well, I got rescheduled to appear for jury duty later in the year because I was not available during the trial dates. So...we'll see what happens next time I get called.
