Thank you to all my newsletter readers and clients! You helped make 2010 a truly wonderful year!
Some of the primary energies and activities of 2010 that I observed through clients, colleagues and friends was an assessment and realignment of priorities, and releasing what is no longer important or supportive. 2010 laid the groundwork and set the stage for 2011 - a year whose primary energies I see as creativity, change, and expansion - especially for those who are ready to be in conscious action. The question is whether you are going to be in the driver's seat and purposefully choose your direction for 2011, or take a back seat and let change happen to you.

Are Your Ready for a Metamorphosis?
Lately I've been drawn to images of butterflies. So in consulting one of my favorite books Animal Speak, the Spiritual & Magical Powers of Creatures Great and Small by Ted Andrews, I realized that the properties and energies of the butterfly are representative of the theme of 2011 - change and expansion.
As Andrews indicates, insects are symbols of weaving new energies into being, new beginnings and new adventures. For example, certain Native American culture's creation stories are about Grandmother Spider weaving the world into being. Insects are considered to be diverse, enduring, opportunists, and possess great wisdom. Andrews also tells us that in early Christianity, the butterfly was the symbol for the soul.
2011 holds the potential for metamorphosis - transformation from one way of being to another - a great year for creating on a higher level. Allow the image of spreading your wings to fly inspire you to recreate your life and business from a soul level.
Imagine that the antennae that insects use as their sensory organs are a symbol for your intuition - providing expanded senses for higher consciousness. Imagine that the butterfly's front legs that tastes flowers as they light upon them is a metaphor for tasting new adventures in life.
Ah...the wonder that the butterfly evokes...beauty, color, lightness, sweetness and joy... dancing on flowers and in the air.
May the butterfly energy of 2011 inspire your own metamorphosis.

We are taking a 1 month hiatus from participation in the Sacramento Second Saturday Art Walk, so although we won't be open for the Art Walk on January 8th, we are extending our wonderful December artists showing in our gallery through the month of January. We will be back with new artists and open for Second Saturday in February.
