The quality of Inkjet printed CD-Rs generally matches that of alternative printing methods. However, some points should be considered; Where solid colours butt up together ‘ink bleeding’ can occur. As with inkjet printers, there are variations in colour from one machine to another, therefore colour matching is aimed for but cannot be guaranteed. Large areas of colour should be avoided as the print may appear ‘patchy’.

COLOURS
Any number of colours may be used. Metallic and special pantones cannot be reproduced. Utilising the silver of the CD into your design is NOT possible due the standard white base on printable CD-Rs.

Max. 6 colours may be printed. A white base is counted as one colour. Colour shifts can occur in the clear plastic area (36mm-centre) due to this area not being metalised. If no white base is used, please consider the 45mm-36mm ‘Mirror band’ where surface reflection changes.

SUPPLYING FILMS
Right reading, emulsion up, positive 110 lpi screen, elliptical dot, no bleed. Angles: Cyan 75º, Magenta 45º, Yellow 90º, Black 15º. Pantone Duo/Tri/Quad tones to be run at combinations of the above angles. All colours and external registration marks to be clearly marked on films White base, if required, must be supplied.
